THE BIG BASH

Big Bash

The National Lottery's New Year's Eve Big Bash was an arena show held at London's Wembley Arena and broadcast on ITV. Hosted by Vernon Kay and Fleur East, the programme combined live music performances, VTs and surprise moments to reflect some of the year's cultural highlights. Shiny Dot delivered the full visual package, including the logo, title sting, lower thirds and stage screen content.

For presenter moments throughout the show, Shiny Dot designed the main house look with a celebratory aesthetic. A rich gold palette combined layered geometric patterning with a mix of recognisable landmarks from across the UK. Together, these elements created a sense of scale and occasion across the arena. At its centre, the show's logo sat within a circular clock design, referencing the countdown.

The National Lottery 30-year Anniversary

A large-scale performance to mark 30 years of National Lottery funding, Shiny Dot crafted bold collage visuals to match the vibrancy of the live action. The stage and arena were filled with multiple National Lottery-funded groups, from ballet to Bhangra.

The stage screen wove a narrative from the Lottery's launch in 1994, moving through time to highlight major UK landmarks and events supported by its funding, from the Angel of the North to London 2012. Each moment was introduced through striking typographic compositions and brought to life using colour, textures and hand-drawn animation. Together, these elements formed a vivid backdrop for the performances.
